Function of hemp core of steel wire rope

The functions of steel wire rope hemp core are as follows:

1. The main function of hemp core is to support the steel wire rope to achieve a stable cross-sectional structure. The rope core includes steel core and fiber core. The fiber core includes natural fiber core and synthetic fiber core. The natural fiber core includes sisal, jute, cotton thread, etc., and the synthetic fiber core includes polyethylene and polypropylene filament, etc.

2. The natural fiber core can store more lubricating grease, which can lubricate the steel wire rope and prolong the service life of the steel wire rope.

3. The wire rope with metal rope core can also be heat treated to obtain non loose performance. In order to improve the mechanical properties and non loosening properties of the steel wire rope, in addition to the pre deformation of the strand when closing the rope, the strand straightening process is widely used when twisting and closing the rope to eliminate the twisting stress of the steel wire rope.

There are two kinds of rope cores of steel wire rope, one is hemp rope core and the other is metal rope core. Hemp rope core mainly plays the role of lubrication to slow down the corrosion of steel wire rope. The rope with metal core can be used in places with high working environment temperature, can withstand the extrusion of steel wire rope by external force, and is widely used in winch.

Steel cored wire rope is more wear-resistant and extrusion resistant than hemp cored wire rope, with higher service life, relatively high breaking force and relatively low flexibility. Because of wear resistance and compression resistance, steel core steel wire rope is generally suitable for cranes or hoists. The price of steel cored wire rope is a little higher than that of hemp cored wire rope, but considering the service life and the tension on the wire rope will be relatively better, the cost of steel cored wire rope is relatively low according to the overall cost performance ratio.
