Characteristics of steel wire rope


As a flexible part, steel wire rope is widely used in hoisting machinery. It has the following characteristics:


1. Steel wire rope can transfer long-distance load.


2. Large bearing safety factor, safe and reliable use.


3. Light weight, easy to carry and transport.


4. It can bear various loads and variable loads.


5. It has high tensile strength, fatigue strength and impact toughness.


6. Under high-speed working conditions, it has good wear resistance, earthquake resistance and operation stability.


7. It has good corrosion resistance and can work normally in the harsh environment of various harmful media.


8. Good softness, suitable for traction, pulling, binding and other purposes.


Requirements for end fixing of steel wire rope


According to safety code for lifting appliances Part 1: general provisions gb6067 1-2010, the end connection and fixation of hoisting machinery steel wire rope shall meet the minimum breaking force.


4.2.1.5 the fixation and connection of wire rope ends shall meet the following requirements:


a) When connecting with rope clamp, the requirements in Table 1 shall be met, and the connection strength shall not be less than 85% of the minimum breaking force of steel wire rope. Table 1 Safety requirements for wire rope clamp connection

b) When connected by braiding, the braiding length shall not be less than 15 times the diameter of the steel wire rope, and shall not be less than 300mm. The connection strength shall not be less than 75% of the minimum breaking force of the steel wire rope.


c) When connecting with wedge block and wedge sleeve, the wedge sleeve shall be made of steel. The connection strength shall not be less than 75% of the minimum breaking force of the steel wire rope.


d) When the conical sleeve casting method is used for connection, the connection strength shall reach the minimum breaking force of the steel wire rope.


e) When aluminum alloy sleeve compression method is used for connection, the connection strength shall reach 90% of the minimum breaking force of steel wire rope.
