Wire rope damage due to drum or pulley
With the continuous operation of the steel wire rope, the rope groove will be worn, the diameter of the steel wire rope will be reduced during operation, and the rope groove will become relatively deeper and narrower with its change. The diameter of the pulley groove and the indentation may appear on the bottom surface of the groove. The pulley may also be severely worn. In addition, the rope groove is not clean enough and accumulates a lot of grease and mud, which is also the reason for the damage of the steel wire rope and the jump of the steel wire rope.
Solution: regularly check the wear and rotation flexibility of vulnerable parts such as hook, lifting ring and pulley groove, and take corresponding measures in time in case of abnormalities. When replacing the steel wire rope, the pulley groove must be carefully considered. The diameter of the pulley groove should be greater than the actual diameter of the new steel wire rope, because the pulley groove will be worn after use, and the actual diameter will be smaller than the original. The diameter of the new steel wire rope adopts positive tolerance according to the regulations, and the actual diameter is greater than the nominal diameter. If the actual diameter of the pulley is less than the actual diameter of the new wire rope, the service life of the wire rope will be affected.
If the new wire rope enters the system through the old wire rope, the two ends of the joint of the two ropes are usually welded together, which will transfer the internal stress of the old wire rope to the new wire rope through the pulley system. This installation method will seriously damage the new wire rope.
Solution: install the new steel wire rope under the traction of the old steel wire rope, and use the Chinese claw to connect it. China's claw is made of twisted twisted stock. We pull it through the tail of the wire rope, and then use tape or wire to protect the wire rope tail. Under load, the Chinese claw will shrink and hold the rope tail by the corresponding friction. When the lifting rope of general crawler crane adopts the same direction twisted steel wire rope, the Chinese claw cannot be sleeved like a screw with a nut. The whole steel wire rope fixed by the Chinese claw can be wrapped with adhesive tape to increase the friction.
The lower steel wire rope on the drum is flattened by the upper steel wire rope, mainly because the winding of the steel wire rope on the drum is not tight enough. In particular, the luffing wire rope is prone to this phenomenon. When the crane operates continuously for a long time under a certain working condition, the working frequency is high, and there is vibration in the lifting operation, the luffing steel wire rope wound on the drum will slowly become loose under the vibration, and the loose lower steel wire rope will be flattened under the pressure of the upper steel wire rope.
Solution: the compression resistance of the steel wire rope without tension is much lower than that of the tensioned steel wire rope. If the no-load walking is more frequent, it can also cause the luffing rope to become loose. In order to prevent the luffing wire rope from being flattened by the upper wire rope, the luffing wire rope can be tensioned by lowering and lifting the arm without the lifting arm for a long time.
The winding phenomenon of steel wire rope after being used for a period of time is mainly caused by excessive stress accumulation in steel wire rope. Incorrect operation of steel wire rope during installation and use will quickly increase the internal stress of steel wire rope. Such as cable-stayed, overload, abnormal friction, wire rope vibration caused by sudden rise and stop, etc. When the internal stress of the steel wire rope accumulates to a certain extent, the rolling phenomenon of the steel wire rope will occur.
Solution: once the steel wire rope is rolled, measures shall be taken immediately to release the internal stress of the steel wire rope. If the coiled rope is relatively short, the rope head can be removed, all the steel wire ropes can be pulled out and laid flat on the ground to release all the stress, and then re installed on the vehicle. If the steel wire rope to be wound is long, when the steel wire rope twisted to the right is wound counterclockwise for n turns, remove the fixed end of the rope head, rotate it clockwise for 2n turns, and then fix the rope head, that is, the winding phenomenon can be corrected.
