1. Number and nature of broken wires:

Under normal circumstances, the copper wire rope with less than 8 strands is usually broken on the surface of the steel wire rope. More than 8 strands may break internally, which is difficult to find. Therefore, we should pay attention to the service time of the wire rope and check the lubrication of the wire rope. When the lubricating oil is easy to dry or deteriorate, the wire rope may have to be replaced.

2. Broken wire at rope end:

When a broken wire occurs at or near the rope end, it indicates that the stress at this part is too large. If the original steel wire is long enough, it can be cut and reused; If it is not long enough, it should be replaced as a whole.

3. Local focus of broken wire:

If the broken wires are close together, they shall be scrapped immediately after being found.

4. Increase rate of broken wire

When the number of broken wires gradually increases and the time interval becomes shorter and shorter, when the number of broken wires exceeds the specified value, it shall be scrapped immediately.

5. Strand breakage

If the whole strand of multi strand steel wire rope is broken, it shall be scrapped immediately.

6. Rope diameter reduction

When it is found that the diameter of the steel wire rope decreases as a whole, check the internal condition of the rope immediately. This is caused by wear and indentation inside the steel wire rope and fracture of the rope core. When the diameter of steel wire rope with anti torsion function is reduced by 3% and the diameter of steel wire rope with other functions is reduced by 10%, it shall be scrapped immediately.

7. Reduced elasticity

When it is found that the elastic deformation of steel wire rope is significantly reduced, continuous observation shall be carried out.

8. External wear

External wear caused by external use of smooth steel wire rope, even if the wire is not broken, when the diameter is reduced by 7%, it shall be scrapped immediately.

9. Internal corrosion

This kind of situation is easy to find, and it will be scrapped due to severe corrosion.

11. Damage caused by heat or electric arc

When the wire rope is heated, the color of the wire will change.

If any of the above conditions are found during the safety inspection, the use of steel wire rope shall be stopped immediately. After being confirmed by the person in charge of safety, the scrapping procedures shall be handled in time.
