Steel wire rope is a rope braided by steel wires. According to different models and uses, it can be divided into the following categories:

1.            Classified by structure:

• Single-strand steel wire rope: It is composed of one strand of steel wire and is suitable for occasions that require high flexibility and flexibility, such as crane hooks, trailer ropes, etc.

• Multi-strand steel wire rope: It is composed of multiple strands of steel wire, has high strength and durability, and is widely used in lifting, bridge erecting, suspension bridges and other projects.

• Parallel-strand steel wire rope: It is made of multiple strands of steel wire arranged in parallel directions and at equal intervals. It has higher bending and deflection performance, and is often used in elevators, cableways, etc.

2.            Classified by purpose:

• Lifting and hoisting wire rope: used for hoisting and hanging operations of various lifting equipment, cranes, tower cranes, etc., carrying heavy objects.

• Steel wire ropes for structures and construction: suitable for suspension bridges, lifting equipment for buildings, construction cranes, etc.

• Wire rope for dismantling and demolition: used for demolition of buildings, bridges and other structures, with high strength and corrosion resistance.

• Steel wire ropes for power transmission lines: mainly used to support and fix power transmission lines, with high strength and weather resistance.

• Steel wire ropes for drilling and oil and gas exploration: used in oil wells, drilling and oil and gas exploration projects, requiring wear resistance, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.

• Steel wire rope for high-temperature environment: It is suitable for use under high-temperature conditions such as metallurgy, glass, and heat treatment. It is required to have high-temperature resistance, no melting, and no deformation.

• Marine and marine steel wire ropes: Used in the fields of ships, marine engineering and fisheries, etc., requiring corrosion resistance, seawater resistance and high stress resistance.

3.            Classified by rope diameter:

• Small rope diameter steel wire rope: the rope diameter is less than or equal to 4mm, which is often used in electronic communication, instrumentation and other fields.

• Medium rope diameter steel wire rope: the rope diameter is greater than 4mm and less than or equal to 11mm, suitable for mechanical equipment, electric power engineering and other occasions.

• Large-diameter steel wire rope: the rope diameter is greater than 11mm, mainly used for various types of heavy lifting equipment, ships and ship equipment, etc.

4.            Other categories:

• Special-purpose wire ropes: wire ropes designed and manufactured according to special requirements, such as elevator wire ropes, cableway wire ropes, extrusion and stretching wire ropes, etc.
