What are the classifications of wire ropes?
1. According to the cross-sectional shape of the wire rope, there are round wire rope and flat wire rope.
2. According to the cross-sectional shape of wire rope strands, there are round strands and irregular strands, which can be divided into triangular strands and flat strands.
3. According to the wire rope, the mutual contact state of each layer of steel wire in the steel strand is divided into: point contact wire rope, line contact wire rope (including point-line contact wire rope).
4. According to the cross-sectional shape of the steel wire, it can be divided into two types: steel wire rope made of round steel wire and steel wire rope made of special-shaped steel wire (such as sealed steel wire rope).
According to the surface condition of the steel wire, it is divided into smooth steel wire and galvanized steel wire. According to the mechanical properties of the steel wire, it is divided into special steel wire and No. 1 steel wire.
5. According to the number of wire rope strands, it is divided into: single strand, six strands, eight strands, twelve strands, eighteen strands, thirty-four strands, etc. The first three/clock-3/ are composed of one
layer of strands; the twelve and eighteen-strand wire ropes are composed of two layers of strands; and the 34-strand wire rope, also known as non-rotating wire rope.
6. According to the twisting direction and method of the wire rope: twist left and right according to the twisting direction of the strands; press the wire rope twist method 1-alternate twist (reverse twist) and same direction twist (forward twist).
7. Grading by strength: Steel wire ropes are divided into several grades according to the nominal strength of the monofilament. Different countries have different rating standards, such as China's round strand
and abnormal strand wire rope in Japan are 140, 155, 170, 185, 200 (kg/mm2), while the round strand wire rope in Japan is 135, 150, 165, 180 ( kg/mm2), round strand wire rope in Germany.
8. Classification by use:

(2) Elevator wire rope;
(3) Aviation wire rope;
(4) Deep well drilling equipment wire rope;
(5) Wire rope for aerial ropeway and cable car;
(6) Lifting wire rope;
(7) Steel strand for prestressed concrete;
(8) Fishing wire rope;
(9) Mining and hoisting wire rope;
(10) Steel cord for tires;
(11) Tape wire rope.
(12) The large hook net of the slope protection net, and the net made of steel wire rope.
