Under the same belt strength, although the quality of fabric core conveyor belt is lighter than that of steel wire rope conveyor belt, because the minimum safety factors of fabric core conveyor belt and steel wire rope conveyor belt are 10 and 7 respectively, when the same material is lifted, the belt strength of steel wire rope conveyor belt is lower, so steel wire rope conveyor belt should be preferred. Therefore, in the case of long conveying distance and large conveying capacity, reasonable calculation should be made to determine the type selection.

From the above characteristics, there are many differences between the two. There is a gap in both quality and service life, but both fabric core conveyor belt and steel wire rope conveyor belt can be applied to the coal industry. For example, if the conveying distance is short and the conveying capacity is small, the fabric core conveyor belt is preferred.
