It is required to ensure that the thickness of the joint of the steel wire rope is similar to that of the original steel wire rope (it should be slightly thinner actually), so that the steel wire rope can smoothly pass through the wheel groove and be neatly arranged on the drum during operation. Practice has proved that the tensile resistance of the steel wire rope at the joint can fully meet the tensile resistance of the original design steel wire rope.


The length of a single strand is generally 180 times the diameter of the steel wire rope, that is, the length of the broken end of a steel wire rope shall be greater than 3*180 d. The total length of both ends is 2*3*180 d。 For example, if d24.5 steel wire rope is inserted once, it must be inserted 2*3*180*24.5=26460mm. Therefore, the large insertion method is also called the long insertion method. In the transportation system of endless rope winch, the steel wire rope passes through the guide tail wheel, tensioning wheel, rope pressing wheel, friction roller, etc., so the large connection method must be used.

6: All insertion shall be firmly tightened until it is consistent with the center line of the inserted steel wire rope. In order to make the inserted parts smooth and round, appropriate tools should be used for shaping to make them enter the appropriate position.

1: The collar shall be clamped on the vice and the wire rope shall pass through the collar so that the main part of the wire rope is on the right and the free end is on the left.


2: The steel wire rope shall be tied to the collar at the top of the ring and both sides of the collar, or they shall be fixed with the collar clamp.


3: Untie the strands of the wire rope. The strand end of the steel wire rope without pre deformation shall be firmly bound.

Steel wire rope clamps shall be used together. When the rope diameter is less than 10mm, the number of rope clamps shall not be less than 3, and when the rope diameter is 10-20mm, the number of rope clamps shall not be less than 4. The spacing between rope clamps is 6-8 times the diameter of steel wire rope. The saddle shall be placed on the side of the stressed rope and the U-shaped snap ring shall be placed on the side of the returned short rope for the rope clamp. It is strictly prohibited to arrange the front and back.


Pay attention to the following points when using the steel wire rope collet:


a) When selecting the collet, the inner clear distance of the U-ring shall be 1 ~ 3mm larger than the diameter of the steel wire rope. If it is too large, the buckle connection is not tight, and accidents are likely to occur.


b) When installing the collet, be sure to tighten the bolt until the rope is flattened by 1 / 3 ~ 1 / 4 diameter. After the rope is stressed, tighten the collet bolt again to ensure that the joint is firm and reliable.
